چکیده

To evaluate the effect of water storage on the microshear bond strength to ground enamel of three "all-in-one" self-etch adhesives: Futurabond DC, Clearfil S Tri Bond and Hybrid bond; a self-etching primer; Clearfil SE Bond and an etch-and-rinse adhesive system, Admira Bond. Sixty human molars were used. The root of each tooth was removed and the crown was sectioned into two halves. The convex enamel surfaces were reduced by polishing on silicon paper to prepare a flat surface that was roughened with a parallel-sided diamond bur with abundant water for five seconds. The bonding systems were applied on this surface. Prior to adhesive curing, a hollow cylinder (2.0 mm in height/0.75 mm in internal diameter) was placed on the treated surfaces and cured. A resin composite was then inserted into the tube and cured. For each adhesive, two procedures were carried out: A--the specimens were kept in water for 24 hours, then the tube was removed and the microshear bond strength was determined in a universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/minute; B--the specimens were stored in water for two-years before microshear testing. The fractured surface of the bonded specimens after each test procedure was examined by SEM. For the 24-hour control, there was no significant difference in bond strength between the tested adhesives. After two years of water storage, the bond strength of Admira Bond, Clearfil SE Bond and Futurabond DC decreased, but the reduction was not significantly different from that of 24 hours. For Clearfil S Tri Bond and Hybrid Bond, the bond strengths were significantly reduced compared to their 24-hour results.

Enamel bonding of self-etch and phosphoric acid-etch orthodontic adhesive systems.

This study was conducted to examine the shear bond strengths of orthodontic brackets to ground enamel with two self-etching adhesives (Beauty Ortho Bond and Transbond XT) and two phosphoric acid-etching adhesives (Kurasper F and Orthomite Superbond). After the bonded specimens were stored in water at 37 degreees C for 24 hours, they were subjected to thermal cycling (TC) at 0 and 5000 cycles. T...

USAF Dental Evaluation & Consultation Service Grinding it Out: Do New Adhesives Bond to Uncut Enamel? (1/03) Microtensile bond strength of self-etching adhesives to ground and unground

This study tested the bond strength of three types of bonding agents to ground and unground enamel, and examined the specimens after testing to see where they had failed. Seventytwo bovine incisors were used in the research. Half of the teeth were assigned to the Ground Enamel Group and were prepared by grinding the facial to produce a flat surface for bonding. The other 32 teeth (the Unground ...

Effect of different bur grinding on the bond strength of self-etching adhesives.

This study compared the microtensile bond strength (MTBS) of three all-in-one adhesive systems and a two-step system using two types of burs to prepare the dentin surfaces. Flat coronal surfaces of 24 extracted human molars were produced using either regular-grit or superfine-grit diamond burs. Resin composite was then bonded to equal numbers of these surfaces using one of the four adhesives: C...

مقایسه سه سیستم self-etch adhesive در استحکام برشی باند کامپوزیتبه مینا در شرایط خشک و مرطوب

Background and Aim: The bonding mechanisms of self etching primers, based upon the simultaneous etching and priming of dentin, simplifies the bonding technique, but the efficiency of these systems is still controversial. This study compared the shear bond strength of three self etch adhesive systems in dry and wet conditions. Materials and Method: In this experimental study, 77 intact bovine lo...

Enamel bonding of self-etching and phosphoric acid-etching orthodontic adhesives in simulated clinical conditions: debonding force and enamel surface.

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of self-etching and phosphoric acid-etching orthodontic adhesives for enamel bonding in simulated clinical conditions. By using two self-etching (Transbond Plus, TP; Beauty Ortho Bond, BB) and two acid-etching (Transbond XT, TX; Superbond Orthomite, SB) adhesives, orthodontic brackets were bonded on human premolars (n=10 for each adhesive). Ten tee...
